Vietnam’s tourism industry has reached a historic milestone, welcoming more than 6 million international visitors in the first quarter of 2025 — the highest quarterly figure ever recorded for the country.
According to tourism and government reports, international arrivals increased by nearly 30% compared to the same period last year, showing strong momentum in Vietnam’s post-pandemic tourism recovery. Air travel remained the dominant entry method, accounting for the majority of international arrivals, while key markets such as China and South Korea continued to lead visitor numbers. ()

Several factors are contributing to this rapid growth:
• Expanded visa policies and easier travel procedures
• Increased international flight connectivity
• Strong global interest in Vietnam’s culture, food, and natural destinations
• Aggressive tourism promotion campaigns and international recognition
Major destinations including Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Quang Ninh, and Hue have all reported strong tourism revenue growth alongside rising visitor numbers. The tourism sector is also contributing significantly to Vietnam’s broader economic recovery and service industry expansion. ()
With record-breaking numbers already achieved in the first quarter, Vietnam is increasingly positioning itself as one of Asia’s fastest-growing and most attractive travel destinations in 2025.
